2006 Silverton Railroad Right-of-Way Hike This year we again offered two all day hikes on the SRR right-of-way as a part of the annual Ouray County Railroad Days . On Thursday September 14th we hiked from Red Mountain Pass to Guston with a detour on the Yankee Girl spurs. The hike was lead by Don Paulson and Keith Koch. A discussion of the operation, construction and history of the railroad was provided by the hike leaders. The inclimate weather limited the size of the group and the Friday session from Guston to Albany had to be cancelled due to rain. In 2007 we hope to have better weather and get in both days of hiking. 2005 Silverton Railroad Right-of-Way Hikes This year we offered two all day hikes on the SRR right-of-way.
